OUR MISSION:

At the Speech Center, our purpose is to empower individuals to achieve their fullest potential (educationally, professionally, and socially) by heightening their ability to communicate effectively. We believe that good articulation, good vocabulary, and an impactful, pleasing voice quality can “open doors” at work, at school, and in social situations.

 

SERVICES OFFERED:

Services are provided for adults and children 18 months of age and older. Areas of practice include:

  • Accent reduction

  • Articulation therapy

  • Fluency (stuttering) therapy

  • Auditory/language processing

  • Cleft palate

  • Language therapy

  • Voice quality improvement

  • Orofacial myofunctional (tongue thrust) therapy

  • Autism spectrum disorders

  • Apraxia

 

WHAT IS A SPEECH & LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST?

A speech-language pathologist is the health-care professional educated and trained to evaluate and treat children and adults with speech, language, voice, and swallowing problems.

Speech-language pathologists receive at least a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, conduct a clinical fellowship year, and pass a national examination to receive their Certification of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA.)
